Larijani Urges University Students to Dig into Int'l Developments

Speaking at the closing ceremony of a festival to honor prominent Basij and innovator students of Ilam Province in western Iran on Thursday, Larijani said the Islamic awakening in the Muslim World had opened a new chapter in contemporary world over the past two months.

He emphasized that the current revolutions and uprisings taking place in the region were all inspired by the 1979 Islamic Revolution of Iran. He said the repercussions of the Islamic Revolution in Iran were now spreading to other countries under the yoke of imperialism.

Larijani described the Islamic Revolution of Iran as a 'huge event' in the Muslim World, adding that the enemies by waging propaganda campaign attempted to tarnish the flourish of the Islamic Revolution. “Iran will explicitly and strongly support the Muslim nations’ uprisings,” he said.

Larijani said Iran’s Islamic Revolution has always been an example for regional states. “The Islamic Revolution of Iran played a remarkable role in awakening of the Islamic nations including Egypt, Libya, Tunisia and Yemen,” said the speaker.

He said that world nations have been fed up with dictatorship and hegemony of the bullying powers led by the United States and its allies.
