Senior Lawmaker Urges EU to Judge Iran Based on Realities

"We have repeatedly asked our counterparts in the European Parliament to become familiar with the realities of Iran closely. They have tried to get information about Iran's issues from the negative media propaganda and ballyhoo launched against Iran," Jalali stressed.

Jalali said that the EU parliamentarians are getting news about Iran through the Opposition and news networks other than those of Iran's.

He added that the Iranian parliament has invited the European parliamentarians for a visit to Iran in a bid to help them see the realties in the Iranian society.

Meantime, Jalali stressed that the European Parliament's report on Iran lacks legality and value since it has been written by the Chairman of the EU committee for parliamentary relations with Israel, Bastiaan Belder.

He mentioned that the report has gone under 300 amendments so far and "this in itself proves how fanatic and unrealistic the report is in its nature and contents against the Islamic Republic of Iran".
