MP Denounces Ruthless Repression of Bahraini, Libyan Protesters

“Suppression of people by using military forces is a crime. The rulers should step aside if people demand their removal,” Kazem Jalali told reporters on Monday.

The lawmaker deplored the massacre of people in Libya, saying, “Using weapons and armed forces against people shows the highest level of selfishness and the Majlis condemns these actions.”

He went on to say that Muammar Gaddafi’s actions have plunged Libya in a serious political crisis.

Commenting on the news that the Saudi troops have entered Bahrain to help quell the unrest, Jalali said, “It is a totally wrong action to bring military forces from other countries to deal with your own people.”

The regional nations are seeking democracy and trying to end the historical humiliation imposed by the West on them, he added.
