Iran to Hold Computerized Elections

“The interior ministry is prepared to hold computerized elections but we must wait and see what date the Guardian Council will choose for the [parliamentary] elections,” the minister said on Monday.

Mohammad-Najjar hailed the ministry's performance in the current Iranian year and said preparations were already underway for the ninth parliamentary elections.

“Our colleagues are making the required preparations across the nation in order to hold the country's parliamentary elections,” the minister said.

In the country's 2008 parliamentary elections about 5,000 candidates across the country campaigned for 290 seats in Parliament (Majlis).
