MP: Iraqis Hate MKO Terrorists

“These events stemmed from the MKO's despicable background caused by their collaboration with the Iraqi Baath Party in killing defenseless Muslim Iraqis,” Mohammad Karami-Raad who sits on the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission was quoted by Mehr News Agency as saying.

He underlined the MKO's collaboration with Saddam Hussein's regime fueled Iraqis' hatred of the terrorist group.

“Crackdowns on Iraqi local movements [during Saddam Hussein's rule] were carried out with the connivance of the MKO,” Karami-Raad went on to say.

“Following the ouster of the Baath regime, with Nouri al-Maliki and Jafari's government coming to power, they wanted to expel the MKO from the region on several occasions, but it didn't happen because of the US and Britain's support. That's why the MKO continued to betray the Iranian and Iraqi nations at Camp Ashraf,” he further explained.

The Iranian legislator also reiterated that Washington has adopted double standards on the MKO.

“Whenever America's interests are jeopardized, it makes every effort to safeguard its interests and it has used the MKO as a tool to achieve its goals,” he said.

Karami-Raad singled out the US as the number-one violator of human rights, and added that the MKO members are “lackeys and followers” of the United States.

The lawmaker underscored that the White House has, time and again, openly supported the MKO.

“At the moment, Saudi Arabia has sent huge aid to the MKO, and has officially announced it,” he concluded.
