Iran FM Condemns Minsk Metro Bombing

At least 11 people were killed and more than 100 others were injured on Tuesday, when a bomb explosion jolted a subway station near Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko's office in Minsk.

In a phone conversation with his Belarusian counterpart on Wednesday, Ali Akbar Salehi expressed sorrow over the casualties caused by the bombing, the Iranian Foreign Ministry said in a statement.

“From the point of view of the Islamic Republic, which has repeatedly fallen victim to such terrorist attacks, such inhumane acts are to be condemned,” Salehi told Sergei Martynov.

The Iranian official further emphasized the need for global cooperation and the determination of all countries to help put an end to such criminal acts.

Salehi also offered the Iranian nation and government's assistance to the families of the Minsk bombing victims and those affected by the incident.
