Boroujerdi: Iran Ready to Help Restore Peace to Region

Speaking to IRNA, he said Iran’s policy on Arab countries in the Persian Gulf region has remained unchanged and it believes in having good ties with them and that Iran seeks to restore peace to the region.

He strongly refuted recent allegations made by PGCC about Iran’s alleged interference in domestic affairs of Bahrain and said the statement issued by PGCC aims at putting the blames on others instead of pointing the finger of accusation at Saudi Arabia which has deployed troops in Bahrain.

The Islamic Republic of Iran has played a very prominent role in maintaining security of the region and spared no efforts to help resolve problems facing Iraq, Afghanistan and Lebanon, he said.

Military intervention in Bahrain and carnage of its oppressed civilians is not a military showoff but it indicates the weakness of the occupying countries.

Saudi Arabia is expected to stand up to the Zionist occupiers instead of suppressing the Bahraini people.

The Islamic Republic of Iran never interferes in domestic affairs of Bahrain and spares no efforts to help protect the country’s independence, he said.

Attacking the innocent civilians and destruction of mosques in Bahrain has hurt the sentiments of world public opinion, he said.
