Inge Hoeger said on her website Tuesday there were 'justifiable doubts' as to whether radical Islamists had actually killed Italian national Vittorio Arrigoni in Gaza and pro-Palestinian peace activist Juliano Mer Khamis in the West Bank.

She added killing the peace activists was aimed at intimidating other international peace activists from setting sail for Gaza as part of the aid convoy.

Furthermore, blaming the murder on radical Islamists would also depict Palestinians in the media as being cruel, according to the German legislator Hoeger said also that Israel had no longer to deal with the murdered activists whom it viewed 'dangerous' because both were well-known among Palestinians and very active in the Palestinian cause.

She referred to instances in the past when Palestinians collaborated with the Zionist regime to commit crimes.

Hoeger pointed also to the so-called 'Lavon affair' to substantiate her claim about Israel's indirect role in the murder of the peace activists.

The Lavon Affair refers to a failed Israeli covert operation, code-named Operation Susannah, conducted in Egypt in the Summer of 1954.

As part of the false flag mission, a group of Egyptian Jews were recruited by Israel's military secret service for plans to plant bombs inside Egyptian, American and British-owned targets.

The attacks were to be blamed on the Muslim Brotherhood and Egyptian Communists with the aim of creating a climate of sufficient violence and instability to induce the British government to retain its occupying troops in Egypt's Suez Canal zone.
