Majlis Commission Discusses Bahrain

“Foreign intervention has caused a complicated situation in Bahrain. Civil rights of the Bahraini people should be heeded,” spokesman for the commission Kazem Jalali told reporters on Wednesday.

He added that instead of the suppression of the Bahraini people, their rights should be respected.

Majlis commission is to hold similar meetings in the next few days, he went on to say.

In March, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait deployed their troops to Bahrain to reinforce the brutal armed crackdowns on Bahraini anti-government protesters.

The anti-government protests against the rule of the al-Khalifa dynasty began in mid-February.

The Bahrain Center for Human Rights in Manama has reported that the country's anti-government protesters, detained by the government forces, have undergone torture.

Scores of protesters have been killed and many others gone missing during the brutal crackdowns.

Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch have condemned the Bahraini and Saudi regimes for their heavy-handed tactics against the Bahraini population.
