Iran Lawmakers Condemn US Allegations on Syria

Members of Iranian Parliament National Security and Foreign Policy Commission in an interview with ISNA stressed, "such measures by the US show how shaky are western claims on Iran's meddling in Syria and the region."

"Americans are pursuing a series of psychological actions to accuse the Islamic Republic of Iran of interference in Syria," said a lawmaker Fatemeh Alia.

"No document is available to prove the claim," she added.

Also another lawmaker said, "allegation against Iran on Syria by the West aims at putting the blame on other countries."

"Claims against Iran on Syria seeks targeting one of the main resistance front in the region," Hossein Ebrahimi said.

Also another lawmaker Javad Jahangirzadeh said, "the unrests in Syria have been orchestrated by outsiders and Syrian government is capable to deal with the unrests."

US President Barack Obama has signed an order imposing sanctions on three top Syrian officials, Syria's intelligence agency and Iran's Revolutionary Guard.

The sanctions freeze any assets the groups have in US jurisdictions and bar Americans from business with them.

Iran has already said that it keeps out of other countries' domestic issues and condemned deployment of troops from Saudi Arabia and the UAE to help suppress popular protests in Bahrain, calling for democracy and more civil rights.
