TEHRAN, May 11 (ICANA) – The Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei has visited the 24th Tehran International Book Fair currently on view in the Iranian capital, Tehran.

On Wednesday, Ayatollah Khamenei met and talked with various publishers that had participated in the annual event.

Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad officially opened the 24th Tehran International Book Fair at the Iranian capital's Grand Prayer Grounds on May 4. The fair will be open to public until May 14.

More than 2,300 Iranian and 1,600 international publishers from 67 countries have participated in the event, according to Iranian Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance Mohammad Hosseini.

Visitors can meet authors and scholars on the sidelines of the event. Almost 500 guests are said to have visited the fair from different countries.

The 2010 edition of the annual event hosted around 2,000 publishers, including 980 international publishers with some 170,000 titles on display.
