Iran, Ukraine Urge Judicial Ties

During a meeting with Ukrainian deputy prosecutor general, Mohseni-Ejei expressed hope that the signing of Memoranda of Understanding between the two countries would enhance Tehran-Kiev judicial cooperation, IRNA reported Saturday.

He went on to criticize the “unfair law” based on which some countries have veto--wielding powers in international organizations, saying that those countries use their veto right when they perceive their interests are in danger.

“Western countries -- especially the United States -- have a completely dual approach toward the issue of human rights; and terrorism, which is a global issue, has turned into their pretext for invading other countries,” he pointed out.

Mohseni-Ejei also recommended the formation of a common judiciary system among “independent countries” in order to launch “a fair and international campaign against terrorism” in an organized manner.

The Ukrainian deputy prosecutor general, for his part, expressed his country's willingness to enhance judicial ties with Tehran.

He said that while being committed to previously-signed judicial pacts with the Islamic Republic, Ukraine aims to provide a foundational framework for further agreements with Iran.
