TEHRAN, May 14 (ICANA) – No one country should be allowed to be “judge and law enforcement” in the face of terrorism around the globe, says an attendee at the International Conference on Global Alliance against Terrorism for a Just Peace (GAATJP).

Speaking at the GAATJP on Saturday, Secretary General of the World Forum for the Proximity of Islamic Schools of Thought Ayatollah Mohammad-Ali Taskhiri said the GAATJP aims to remove the major obstacle of terrorism, and is in pursuit of a great human value, Fars News Agency reported.

“All of humanity must cooperate to realize just peace and having one country claim to be countering terrorism and make themselves the judge and law enforcement is unacceptable rather the whole of humanity must move [toward countering terrorism].”

The International Conference on Global Alliance against Terrorism for a Just Peace kicked off in the Iranian capital, Tehran, on Saturday.

The event which brings together over 100 foreign as well as 300 local experts focuses on efforts aimed at uprooting terrorism.

Among the issues to be discussed in the conference are the theoretical principles of terrorism, the typology of terrorism, coordination of attempts to fight terror, policies adopted by different governments to combat terrorism, real objectives of combating terrorism, and terrorist groups, cultural terrorism, cyber-terrorism, media terrorism, the role of media in fighting terror and etc.

The two-day event is scheduled to conclude on Sunday.

Tehran also hosted four exhibitions of posters and caricatures on just peace, as well as exhibitions of photos of the families of the victims of terror attacks in Iran and the Middle East ahead of the GAATJP on Friday.
