FM Salehi to Visit Kuwait

TEHRAN, May 17 (ICANA) – Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi is to visit Kuwait to discuss ongoing developments in the region with Kuwaiti officials, Iran's foreign ministry spokesman says.

Ramin Mehmanparast said at his weekly press conference on Tuesday that Salehi will leave for the Persian Gulf country on Wednesday.

He added that Salehi's Kuwait visit will be the continuation of the consultations of the Iranian foreign diplomacy apparatus with regional countries on regional developments.

Mehmanparast pointed out that during such diplomatic consultations, parties will exchange views, solutions for better improvement of the situation in the region will be put forward and suitable decisions will also be made.

Earlier this month, Salehi visited the UAE, Qatar and Oman to confer with high-ranking officials of the three countries.

In the UAE, Salehi met with UAE Prime Minister Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and his Emirati counterpart, Sheikh Abdullah Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, on bilateral ties and regional developments.

During his trip to Qatar, Salehi discussed regional developments and bilateral ties with Qatari Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, Crown Prince Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Hamad bin Jassim bin Jabor Al Thani.

Salehi also visited the Omani capital of Muscat before visiting Qatar and he held talks with senior Omani officials, including Omani Sultan Qaboos bin Said al-Saidon on regional developments and bilateral ties.
