MP: Deviant Current Should Be Dealt with

Head of the Parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi said the “deviant current” has been added to the Islamic Revolution of Iran's “political literature” at this juncture.

He urged parliament members to remain vigilant in dealing with the “deviant current.”

“I don't think this deviant current will be able to do anything, and such primary measures and the stances [taken by the establishment] will definitely nip this current in the bud,” said Boroujerdi.

“As the phrase itself indicates, this current seeks to deviate from the path of the Islamic Revolution, and abuse power and wealth. Naturally, all of this runs counter to the principles and regulations and this will not be allowed to happen,” the top lawmaker underscored.

Elsewhere in his remarks, Boroujerdi pointed to the detention of Iranian university professor Masoud Karimi in Bahrain and said the Manama government and Al Khalifa dynasty have committed legal violations and breached international regulations on numerous occasions.

He said there have been other Iranian nationals running into trouble in Bahrain, and added that measures have been taken by the Iranian Embassy in Manama to deal with the issue.
