Larijani: Recent IAEA Report Issued on US Order

“I guess the recent report of the IAEA has been issued on the US order,” Larijani told a press conference after a meeting with his Singaporean counterpart Abdullah Tarmugi in Singapore.

In the IAEA reports phrases change under special conditions, said Larijani, adding that when they wish, they omit the phrase “talks are making progress" and they use ambiguous phrases and words when they want to enter into talks.

He advised the IAEA to try to complete their information instead of using vague phrases and this has nothing to do with Iran. “Besides its Regular inspections, IAEA cameras are still in place in Iran’s nuclear centers.”

“I guess the recent report of the IAEA had been issued upon recommendation of the US Embassy (in Vienna). It has been perhaps because of Americans’ anger of movements in the Middle East and North Africa and toppling of puppet dictatorial regimes."

Iranian Parliament (Majlis) Speaker Ali Larijani arrived in Singapore Tuesday on a two-day official visit to discuss ways to develop bilateral relations.

He was welcomed by Singapore's Deputy Speaker of Parliament Matthias Yao in Singapore Changi International Airport.

A number of Iranian lawmakers as well as Hassan Qashqavi, Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular, Parliamentary and Iranian Affairs, accompany Larijani in his visit.

Larijani is scheduled to meet a number of Singaporean officials, including Speaker of Parliament Abdullah Tarmugi.

At the end of his visit to Singapore, Larijani will fly to Jakarta to hold talks with Indonesian officials on bilateral ties as well as international developments.

In Jakarta, the top Iranian diplomat will also hold talks with senior Indonesian officials, including President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono and Minister for Foreign Affairs Nur Hassan Wirajuda.

Before departure to Singapore, Larijani expressed hope that Iran's relations with Singapore and Indonesia will improve following his trips to Singapore and Jakarta.

“Economic relations between Iran and Singapore stand at a relatively acceptable level as we have around $2 billion worth of trade with Singapore,” Larijani said on Monday before departing for the Southeast Asian country.

“During the visit, regional issues of potential significance for both sides will be discussed since Singapore is a member of the Asian Parliamentary Assembly (APA),” he added.

The Iranian Majlis speaker pointed out that he would also discuss “significant regional issues” with Indonesian officials.

Larijani added that Indonesia could play an effective role to help solve regional problems, especially the crises in Yemen, Bahrain, and Libya.

Larijani will wrap up his visit and return home on June 11.
