The heads of SCO member states will gather in Astana city in Kazakhstan on June 15 to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the organization's establishment.
The Iranian president will head for Kazakhstan to attend the summit on Wednesday, Fars News Agency reported.
Ahmadinejad will meet the heads of states attending the SCO summit, including the presidents of Russia and China, Dmitry Medvedev and Hu Jintao.
The SCO, which was founded in 2001 in Shanghai, comprises of China, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
Iran, as well as India, Mongolia and Pakistan are observer members, although Tehran has been seeking full membership since 2008.
In the 2010 summit, Iran proposed the use of a single currency between SCO members to ease trade and strengthen cooperation.
