MP: Parliaments Accountable for a Nuclear Free World

He made the remarks at the 2nd International Conference on Disarmament and Non-Proliferation in Tehran.

Some countries do not honor their commitments to Non-Proliferation Treaty and have adopted double standard policy which has put the NPT at risk, he said.

He said that Iran will never overlook its legitimate rights enshrined by NPT and that the parliament defends the NPT rights of Iranian nation.

He said that peaceful nuclear technology is among undeniable rights of all nations to use the scientific and technological know-how.

Making use of nuclear energy for peaceful means is among essential principles of NPT which should not be ignored, he said adding that it is about four decades that NPT has been implemented but the developing nations have less access to equipment and nuclear materials while they have to burden more commitments.

He said that the countries which control export of nuclear materials have created new barriers for the developing countries to gain access to peaceful nuclear technology and facilities.

The Zionist regime which has horrific record in massacre of people has easy access to nuclear weapons and never hesitate to threaten its neighbors while NPT member states are deprived of their legitimate rights, he said.

Nuclear disarmament is a must, he underlined adding that the world countries, international organizations and peace-loving nations should cooperate for a world free from unclear weapons.
