Pakistan's Constituency Relation Group hailed the government initiative and also demanded the government to sign an agreement on import of 100 megawatt of additional electricity.

Khuda Bux convener CRG at a press conference Friday thanked Naveed Qamar, Federal Minister for Water and Power and Senator Dr Abdul Malik, Baloch, Meer Yaqoob Bazenjao, MNA, Senator Ismael Buledi and other Provincial Ministers for relief to the people of Makran.

CRG members went to Islamabad and conducted a meeting with Water and Power Minister Naveed Qamar with Meer Yaqoob Bazenjo, Senator Dr Abdul Malik, Baloch, Senator Ismel Buledi and Senator Haji Lashkari Raeesani, he said.

The government had signed an agreement on import of 35 megawatt electricity provision in 2003 due to which thousands of Makran villages were electrified under this agreement, he said.

However, only 35 megawatt electricity was insufficient for Makran as people were facing 12 to 15 hours load shedding and business and agriculture suffered loss. The issues of electricity provision and other social issues should be resolved on priority basis in Makran, he said.
