Iran Favors Regional Security: Lebanese FM

TEHRAN, June 22 (ICANA) – The Lebanese foreign minister says Iran favors the “establishment of peace and security” in the region and is against any foreign intervention in the internal affairs of other states.

“Iran wants the establishment of peace and security in the region and to distance nations from the intervention and domination of foreign countries,” Adnan Mansour said in an interview with IRNA.

Mansour said Beirut is eager to “expand relations with the Islamic Republic of Iran in all fields.”

The Lebanese top diplomats stressed that Iran plays “a balanced role” in regional developments.

Mansour also said he would attend the Global Fight against Terrorism Summit in the Iranian capital of Tehran.

The summit will be held on June 25 and June 26 with the aim of increasing international convergence and cooperation on fighting terrorism.

Officials from 80 countries as well as regional and international organizations will take part in the two-day conference.
