Turkish FM to Visit Iran for Talks

An informed source told IRNA on Sunday that the Turkish minister will discuss latest regional developments with Iranian officials.

The two sides also plan to discuss other matters of mutual interest during Davutoglu's visit, which is part of his planned tour of the Middle East region.

The decision regarding Davutoglu's upcoming visit was made during his recent meeting with Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

In 2010, Erdogan said that Ankara is seeking to triple its trade volume with Iran over the next five years.

Iran and Turkey, both members of the Economic Cooperation Organization, enjoy close trade and economic relations.

Before his trip to Tehran, Davutoglu visited Egypt and Libya.

The Turkish foreign minister is also scheduled to travel to Syria, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia during his Middle East tour.
