Salehi, who left Tehran Monday at the head of a delegation, is scheduled to hold talks with Slovenian Foreign Minister Samuel Zbogar.

The Iranian minister will also inaugurate the Iran's Embassy in Ljubljana, IRNA reported.

Following his visit to Slovenia, Salehi will head for Vienna on an official visit, which will take place at the invitation of his Austrian counterpart Michael Spindelegger.

During his stay in Vienna, Iran's top diplomat will hold talks with Spindelegger and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency Yukiya Amano.

Speaking to reporters in Tehran on Sunday, Salehi reiterated that ups and downs in relations between Iran and European countries should not prevent discussions and expansion of ties.

“Iran is a strategic and very important country to the European Union,” he stated.

He added that Iran can be an important energy supplier to Europe.
