MP: Afghan Forces Lack Needed Authority to Stage Operations

Speaking to FNA in Kabul on Tuesday, Fahimeh Sadat complained that her country's forces are not allowed to do anything without the permission of the occupying troops.

"In many cases, Afghan forces cannot stage operations against armed insurgencies against the government without foreign forces' permission," Sadat said.

She said Afghan commanders are faced with difficulties in establishing contact with foreign commanders, adding that this indicates the lack of the needed coordination between the foreign and Afghan forces.

The lawmaker stated that Afghan forces have no motivation for fighting armed insurgents because authorities don't care for their efforts.
