Iran Rejects PGCC Secretary-General's Letter on Bahrain

TEHRAN, July 22 (ICANA) – Iran said the letter submitted by Secretary-General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council (PGCC) Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani to Tehran on the current situation in Bahrain runs counter to the diplomatic norms and is unacceptable.

The letter was therefore rejected and returned, an informed source told the Islamic republic news agency on Wednesday.

The informed official at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs further focusing on the method of delivering the letter, reiterated, "The undiplomatic letter was delivered also against the diplomatic norms, in a meeting with the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran (to Saudi Arabia) with the Secretary General of the Persian Gulf Cooperation Council to the Iranian diplomat, which was returned to the Secretariat of the PGCC, keeping in mind the its unacceptable contents."
