No Basic Difference Seen in Iran-France Relations: President

"Basically, there is no difference between Iran and France's points of view," President Ahmadinejad said in a meeting with New French Ambassador to Tehran Bruno Foucher on Saturday.

"What is important is taking steps towards consolidating and reinvigorating the bilateral and international ties away from the views and interference of the others," Ahmadinejad stated.

The Iranian president further underlined the significance of mutual respect and justice in relations and ties among the world countries.

"The Islamic Republic of Iran sees no restriction to the expansion of ties with France based on mutual respect and justice."

Foucher, for his part, lauded the age-old ties between Iran and France, and said that Paris is resolved to boost relations with Iran and believes that solutions can be found to possible differences, if any.

"France attaches special importance to the role of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the region and in the world and believes that Iran should play an effective role on the international scene," the French ambassador reiterated.
