Larijani: Iran Will Not Let Terrorists Live

Referring to martyrdom of five revolutionary guards by the terrorist PJAK group in the northwest of the country, Larijani said: "Today, US adventurism in the region is taking its last breaths and for the same reason Washington has resorted to terrorist groups to cover up its failures," Larijani told the open session of the Majlis Sunday.

The speaker said roadside bombings by PJAK had no military value and the terrorist acts were only an attempt by the US to mend its failed gesture before the media.

The top lawmaker ridiculed the US for its slogans on war on terror and warned PJAK which he said had sold itself out to Washington, to wait for Iran's revolutionary guards to finish the job and strip them of continuation wherever they are.

He thanked the IRGC for suppressing the anti-revolutionary and US-backed PKK and urged the force to continue its operations until full extermination of all these American mercenaries.

Larijani also condemned the assassination of an Iranian university professor in the capital city of Tehran and described it as another instance demonstrating US hostility toward Iran.

"The United States authorizes such terrorist acts in its sham global management," he added.

Chants of Allaho Akbar, Down with US and Down with Israel by the MPs supported the speaker's statement.

On Saturday, unknown gunmen killed prominent Iranian university professor, Daryoush Rezaienejad, outside his house.

Rezaienejad and his wife were on their way to their child's kindergarten when they were approached by two men on a motorbike. The gunmen called him by name and shot Rezaienejad, 35, in the neck when he turned around.

According to local sources, Rezaeinejad worked for the Iranian Defense Ministry.

No group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.
