Kuwaiti Parliament Strongly Reacts to Insult against Shia Muslims

According to Egyptian “Youm7” website, dissemination of a voice-recorded file indicates that Hamad Al Fallah while talking to another person spoke against Kuwait Shia Muslims and promised to “sack all Shia staff in the company.”

Shia MPs of the Kuwaiti parliament have lashed out at him for his statements and charged him with insult to Shia Muslims.

The deputies have said that Fallah’s statements were a conspiracy to keep Shia Muslims away from important positions and posts which they deserve to hold.

The deputies have also called for interrogation of the chairman of the board of directors of Kuwait Airways.

Some deputies have said that the government should properly implement the law on safeguarding national security so that the legal rights of none of the Kuwaiti citizens, of any religion or faith, would be trespassed.

Shia Muslims comprise about 30 percent of Kuwaiti citizens.

Kuwait has a population of 3.5million people, 40 percent of whom are foreigners.
