The big embezzlement case aimed to distort country's face

At the beginning of the Majlis public session on Sunday, Larijani said: "the public confidence can be seriously damaged by fraud in the banking system and Majlis is determined to thoroughly investigate the recent embezzlement case."

He also said that the Sunday's public session was delayed due to the special meeting between the lawmakers which was dedicated to comprehensive investigation of the recent embezzlement case.

He noted that many questions were raised during the meeting over the various dimensions of the recent fraud.

Larijani appreciated the efforts made by the judiciary system in pursuing the embezzlement case and said: "different dimensions of the case will be investigated by the 90th principle of the constitution commission in close cooperation with the economic and judicial commissions."

"There are various reasons behind such a corruption case and Majlis will examine different possibilities of leaks in the country's banking system as well as other non-banking elements which had an impact on the case." Larijani added.
