TEHRAN, Sept 19 (ICANA) – A member of the National Security and Foreign Policy Commission, Seyed Hossein Naqavi Hosseini announced that the special committee for clarifying the status of Imam Musa Sadr will be dispatched to Tripoli in the near future to probe into the fate of the missing Shia leader.

Imam Sadr committee visits Libya in near future

In an interview with ICANA, Naqvi Hosseini announced the recent efforts made by the Committee in order to gather more evidences about the fate of the Imam Sadr, including the special meetings of the committee with the officials of Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Referring to the evidences that prove Imam Musa Sadr is alive in Libya, Naqavi Hosseini  further noted that the trip to Tripoli is scheduled to take place in the coming fall, during which the members of the committee will discuss the issue with the top officials in the Libyan National Transitional Council (NTC).

Al-Sadr, an Iranian-born Lebanese philosopher spent many years of his life in Lebanon as a religious and political leader, before he went missing during a trip to Libya at the invitation of former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi.
