'UN management prejudiced, unjust'

“President [Mahmoud Ahmadinejad] expressed Iran's positions on the prejudiced and unjust management of international system [in his General Assembly address] and correctly enumerated its flaws,” Sobhani-Nia added on Sunday.

The lawmaker said Western powers have dominated UN bodies including the Security Council, International Atomic Energy Agency and Human Rights Council to impose their will on other countries, the official Majlis news agency, ICANA, reported.

“The United Nations is a global parliament and congress where all developed and oppressed nations should have a voice and not just allow the hegemonic system to make policies for the world…,” he added.

The lawmaker argued that international system should be shaped according to the will of all nations.

“The Security Council cannot do its job properly with its existing make-up. Therefore, changing that make-up is necessary to make way for other world bodies…to play their part in managing the Council,” Sobhani-Nia said.
