Russia must pay compensations over S-300 abolition

In an interview with ICANA on Tuesday, Boroujerdi said: "Russia has returned the prepayment for the delivery of the S-300 anti-missile systems to Iran. However, Moscow is supposed to pay reparations over the direct and indirect damages resulting from unilateral cancellation of the agreement."

Referring to the kind of damages suffered by Iran over the cancellation, he said: "Iranian side has spent more than 5 years preparing and training the staff for the deployment of this system and Russia must accept its responsibilities over this damages."

He further noted: "Relations between Iran and Russia cover a wide range of issues and it is not only restricted to the S-300 contract."

"Therefore Tehran and Moscow are expected to take longer steps in deepening their bilateral relations in the future."  He added.
