'MENA uprisings to end West hegemony'

Head of the Cultural Committee of Iran's Majlis said the nations that have experienced the dictatorship of their governments for years will not tolerate oppression any longer, IRNA reported on Monday.

Haddad-Adel went on to say that some of the regimes in the region seek to safeguard themselves against Islamic Awakening by choosing to enhance dependence on the United States and support for Israel.

Pointing out the fruitfulness of most of the popular uprisings in the region, the Iranian official said the dependent regimes that ignore the reality on the ground must realize that a bleak future awaits them.

He further explained that the regional uprisings have been influenced by Iran's Revolution, adding that the Islamic Republic is in favor of the freedom of nations.

Haddad-Adel made the remarks on the sidelines of the international conference on the Persian mystic and poet Mowlavi at the University of Malaysia in Kuala Lumpur.
