Iranophobia main drive behind US terror claims

"The US drive to promote Islamophobia and Iranophobia is the root cause of its accusation against Iran regarding the alleged terrorist plot on the US soil," Mehdi Mahdizadeh told FNA in Iran's Northeastern holy city of Mashhad.

He pointed to the plots hatched by the US since the victory of the Islamic Revolution in 1979 to undermine the Islamic Republic, and cautioned that Washington is using different tactics, including raising frequent accusations, to demonize Tehran in the international community.

"The US does not spare any destructive, illogical and irrational effort to battle against Iran because it feels threatened by Tehran," the lawmaker stated.

Mehdizadeh viewed the Islamic Revolution as a source of inspiration for the Arab Spring, and said that developments in the region and the Islamic Revolution's inspirations for the regional people have left negative and scary impacts on the US and European leaders.
