US anti-Iran bid to revive sanctions

Rajaei added on Saturday that Washington's phony scenario is so baseless that even the American media and scholars have expressed doubts about it and asked their government to release solid evidence on the case, IRNA reported.

“The United States is facing mounting pressure on all sides and is trying to divert the global focus on its domestic problems and damage the Islamic Awakening by concocting the new scenario,” he added.

“The Islamic Awakening in countries like Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen and Saudi Arabia which were bases for the US colonialist policies in the Middle East has caused serious problems for the United States and as the Awakening has been inspired by the Islamic Revolution, the Americans are increasing pressure on Iran,” Rajaei noted.

The lawmaker stated that recent allegations against Iran further aim to weaken the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) as one of the main pillars of the Islamic Revolution.

“The Zionist regime has been totally isolated as a result of the Islamic Awakening and the United States' phony scenario is also meant to reduce pressure on Israel,” he said.
