Iran should file complaint against US

Head of the Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Alaeddin Boroujerdi told reporters in Tehran on Sunday that US claims against Iran are so “unfounded” that political pundits have scoffed at them, IRNA reported.

Boroujerdi said Iranophobia is one of the methods used by US since the 1979 Islamic Revolution to increase its presence in the Middle East.

The senior lawmaker said Mansour Arbabsiar, 56, who is at the center of an alleged Iranian plot to kill a Saudi diplomat in Washington, seems to have been mentally unfit and a repeat offender.

Boroujerdi criticized Washington for fabricating such allegations and asked US officials to submit the evidence they have to support claims.

He said the latest anti-Iran plot has been hatched by the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Israeli intelligence agency, Mossad, and certain countries have roles in this scenario.

Boroujerdi highlighted that the latest remarks by Saudi Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal on the US allegations against Iran have been made under pressure from Washington.

He stressed that Saudi Arabia knows that terror is not Iran's trait, and that the Islamic Republic is one of the main victims of terrorism in the world.
