Tehran, Oct 21 (ICANA) – Chairman of Iran's Majlis (parliament) Commission on National Security and Foreign Policy Alaeddin Boroujerdi has censured the recent anti-Iran scenario fabricated by the US, stressing that Washington is engaged in a new series of mudslinging against Tehran.

US engaged in new anti-Iran campaign

These baseless allegations are a new round of the US propaganda games and political pressure against the Iranian nation which have always existed during the years after the [victory of] the Islamic Revolution,” said Boroujerdi in a meeting with the French ambassador to Iran, Bruno Foucher, on Thursday, IRNA reported.

He denounced the West's dual attitude toward various issues including human rights and anti-terrorism campaigns, and stated, “Iran is the biggest victim of terrorism in the world.”

Western countries have always used the issue of human rights as a political tool,” the Iranian lawmaker added.

Boroujerdi emphasized that a threatening language is not the rational means of resolving global issues.

The Iranian legislator also stressed the importance of strengthening Tehran-Paris relations, particularly in parliamentary fields.

There is suitable common ground for bolstering parliamentary ties between Iran and France, he said, urging the two countries' parliaments to help clear up possible misunderstanding through negotiations.

The French ambassador, for his part, said Iran has the capability to play an active role in international issues such as the fight against terrorism.

Foucher added that the exchange of visits between the two countries' parliamentary and political delegations will accelerate the process of bolstering regional and international cooperation.
