Dictators must learn from Gaddafi fate

In a congratulatory message to the people of Libya Larijani said, “The victory of the revolution of the Muslim nation of Libya which was realized with the death of the criminal dictator of this country… shows that this is the dark fate awaiting all criminals."

The Iranian lawmaker added that dictators who turn their backs on their people and Islamic values must know that they will be killed by their nations in the end.

Larijani went on to say that victory and success are achieved through unity and that oppressive governments will never last.

He urged Libyans to remain vigilant until a democratic government is established and the hands of those attempting to plunder the resources of the country are severed.

Muammar Gaddafi was killed in his hometown of Sirte on Thursday, eight months after an uprising that put an end to his four decade rule in Libya.

Gaddafi is the first Arab dictator to be killed in the wave of the popular uprisings and revolutions, which have been sweeping through North Africa and Middle East.
