Gaddafi's Cooperation and ties with European countries led to violation of the Libyan people's rights and created an atmosphere of repression which was the outcome of the support of Western states and US for this dictator,” Fars News Agency quoted Zohreh Elahian on Friday.

The lawmaker, who is member of Iran Majlis (parliament) National Security and Foreign Policy Committee, added that arresting and trying Gaddafi would have provided an opportunity to shed light on his ties with Western leaders and the CIA as well as Imam Mousa Sadr's case.

Under the pretext of defeating Gaddafi and supporting Libyans, the US and NATO have tried to secure their military presence in Libya and use it to destroy Libya's infrastructure,” she said.

Elahian said that destroying Libya's infrastructure is a US and NATO plot to help plunder Libyan resources under pretext of rebuilding the country.
