'Popular uprisings in Muslim countries at a considerable pace are heading toward an Islamic renaissance which can help the Muslim nations to have independent parliaments while adopting independent decisions,” he added.

He pointed out that all potentials of the US and the Western world have been used to divert the awakening movements in Muslim countries from their true path.

Referring to the recent unrests in Syria, Boroujerdi said that the political developments of Syria are different from the rest of Arab countries, because the Syrian leaders are beside the Islamic resistance themselves.

“Syrian leaders are not like deposed Egyptian dictator Hosni Mubarak, Ben Ali of Tunisia, and former Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi to act against their own people,” he added.
