US toying with diplomacy

Clintonis making remarks that are beneath the dignity of officials, Larijani said during an open session of the Majlis on Sunday, adding that her “unfounded” statements should not be taken seriously.

Diplomacy is a real issue which enforces regulations to safeguard the country's national interests, he pointed out.

He emphasized that diplomacy is not one make-up item to cosmeticize matters.

The top Iranian parliamentarian further showed reaction to Clinton's remarks about the country's plan to open a "virtual embassy" for Iran.

If the affairs of the United States are settled through virtual embassies, [US President Barack] Obama must have the license to resolve the country's woes with having a virtual secretary of state, he said.

In interviews with the Persian language services of the state-run BBC and Voice of America on Wednesday, Clinton said that Washington plans to launch a "virtual embassy" for Iran, which will give Iranians online information about visa applications and student exchange programs despite the lack of formal diplomatic ties between the Islamic Republic and the United States.

She added that the "virtual embassy" website would be launched by the end of the year.
