MP urges unity to foil enemy plots against elections

"Enemies have done a lot of planning to misuse the upcoming (parliamentary) elections," Javad Jahangirzadeh told FNA on Saturday.

He pointed to the claims raised by the West against Iran's nuclear program, its human rights record and the US recent claims about Iran's involvement in terrorist activities, and said that the US plans to bring Iran under heavy pressure as the country is gearing up for parliamentary elections in March.

"As we see the West intends to raise different issues against the Islamic Republic of Iran through fabricated scenarios, and we are required to create internal solidarity and deal wisely with these scenarios," Jahangirzadeh stated.

He further stressed that "to avoid security risks and challenges in the 9th parliament elections, the elections should be held with maximum participation and high public turn out," he noted.

Late in August, Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei had also called on the Iranian nation to keep vigilant against the plots hatched by the enemies to misuse elections in Iran.
