US officials' interfering remarks "costly mistake"

"Clinton has made a big mistake, a mistake that will prove costly for the US," Karami-Raad told FNA on Monday.

Karami-Raad further pointed to the recent call by the US officials for assassinating Iranian officials, and warned against such moves.

Meantime, he stressed that the US should not pin hope on anti-revolution groups for staging such terrorist operations against Iranian officials, because these groups are not able to stage armed action against Tehran.

He reiterated that the Iranian nation will "nip in the bud" any group that wants to put Clinton's remarks into action.

The lawmaker also reminded that the US officials' call for assassination of Iranian commanders and authorities vindicates Iran's claims about Washington's terrorist nature.

Clinton used interviews with the Persian language services of the BBC and Voice of America to pretend that the United States hoped to broaden contacts with regular Iranians despite tensions with the Tehran government, and described Iran's Islamic establishment as a military dictatorship.

Clinton said the United States was providing both technology and training to help Iranians circumvent government limits on the Internet and other forms of communication while seeking to expand sanctions on Tehran.
