“Syria, which has given civilization and Arab nationalism lessons to the world will emerge even stronger than it was,” said Arslan, who met with Syrian President Bashar al-Assad earlier on Tuesday.

The MP also said that him and Assad discussed regional developments, particularly the “foreign conspiracy targeting Syria,” adding that his opinions on the “regional political scene” matched Assad’s opinions.

Arslan added that there is a plot “targeting Syria” because the latter represents “[a line of] defense against Zionist plans, which are supported by the West and some countries from the region.”

“We [voiced] the importance of supporting Syria’s leadership, government and people. We also voiced our condemnation of the positions that some parties in Lebanon and in the region are taking.”
