Israeli attack will unleash Iran wrath

Referring to recent Israeli threats to attack Iran, lawmaker Hossein Ebrahimi said since the beginning of the Islamic Revolution the US, the UK and Israel have frequently threatened Iran and this is not a new development.

“Before [being able to take] any action against Iran, the Israelis will feel our wrath in Tel Aviv,” IRNA quoted Ebrahimi as saying.

The Iranian lawmaker added that during the 33-day war Israel waged on Lebanon in 2006, the Zionist regime's military power was assessed and found to be weak.

“The Israelis entered the 33-day war with the capabilities they had but earned nothing but humiliation,” Ebrahimi said.

“I do not think that Israelis along with the Americans and Britons will commit such a folly,” he noted.

“If the threat is carried out they will see the political might of the [Islamic] establishment, the solidarity of the Iranian nation, and the strength of the country,” Ebrahimi added.

Israel's Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu addressed the Knesset last Monday in an effort to garner support for a military attack on Iran.

Supported by the defense minister, Ehud Barak, and foreign minister, Avigdor Lieberman, Netanyahu argued that Israel should proceed with efforts to encourage the West to exert more economic and political pressure on Iran.

He also emphasized that any action against Iran should be carried out in full coordination with the United States.
