"It has been proved that these documents have been forged and the government is necessitated to take legal actions to reclaim the Qolhak Garden," member of the parliament's National Security and Foreign Policy Commission Seyed Hossein Naqavi told FNA on Wednesday.

He further reminded the illegal actions taken by the British mission in the garden, including the cutting and burning of more than 300 trees, and said the embassy has violated Iran's laws and it should pay the price for its wrongdoing.

Naqavi described the measure as a crime, and said if any Iranian citizen cuts a tree, he/she is tried as a criminal.

Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ramin Mehman-Parast had earlier informed that his ministry is likely to take action to take back ownership of Qolhak Garden from the British embassy.
