Iran ready to cooperate with 5+1, if EU ensures guarantees

In an interview with ICANA on Tuesday, Farhangi said, "The only reason to continue cooperation with the West is to clarify the ambiguous issues regarding Iran's peaceful nuclear program."

Commenting on the recent proposal made by European Union Foreign Policy Chief, Catherine Ashton, he said, "The proposal is clearly based on political motives, because it asks Iran to adhere to the recent unfounded resolution of International Atomic Energy Board of governors.

He further noted, "This means that the Western countries once again want to impose their conditions on Iran, while the Iranian government and people do not accept the one-sided resolution."

"The Western countries should provide Iran with firm guarantees in order to convince Iran to continue the path of negotiations," he added.
