Reforms best resolution to Syrian crisis

Boroujerdi told Fars News Agency on Thursday that he had discussed the Syrian situation during his visit to Turkey.

“We argued that Syria is a country which has been in the frontline of resistance [against Israel] and the Zionist regime and the US seek to create problems for Syria…and change its political system,” he added.

Boroujerdi said that a large arsenal of weapons and a great number of terrorists were present in Syria and trying to destabilize the country.

“We told [Turkish officials] in our meetings that the nature of developments in Syria is quite different from Egypt, Tunisia, Libya, Yemen and Bahrain because those countries were ruled by governments which were aligned with the Zionist regime and the US, but in Syria the situation is quite the opposite and the Syrian people strongly defend their political system,” he added.

Boroujerdi said threatening Syria will yield no results because the majority of Syrians oppose the repetition of the Libyan developments in their country.
