Jalali criticizes Cheney's remarks on spy drone

"The Islamic Republic of Iran which possesses the capability to bring down the super-advanced spy drone, can give a crushing response and cut off hands of anyone who wants to violate its air, navy and land borders," Jalali said on Wednesday.

He reiterated that Iran is not a bellicose country and continued, "Zionists and Israel have already said that Americans should have detected and bombarded the site where the drone lay."

"The U.S. has violated Iranian air space in a meaningful way to harm our security and interests via a spy drone and now is speaking of return of the drone. This is an astonishing remark by Obama who has studied law."

Cheney criticized Obama for merely asking Iran to return the drone, and he told CNN that Obama should have ordered a airstrike to destroy the U.S. spy plane.

The drone, which was displayed on Iranian television last week, was captured by Iranian forces earlier this month.
