UK decision to affect Iran arriving at a conclusion

Ebrahimi stressed "time will determine everything regarding the situation of Iran’s embassy in London" and noted the embassy was closed in London and all relevant officials had returned to the country.

He added Iran has sought reducing ties with the UK, but not cutting the relations. Iran would take an action on cutting relations with the UK if the country seeks to cut the political ties with Iran.

The UK imposed new sanctions on Iran's banking system and energy sector after Director General of International Atomic Energy Agency, Yukiya Amano, released his latest report on November 8, accusing Iran of pursuing a nuclear weapons program. Following that Hundreds of Iranian students staged a protest rally outside the UK Embassy in Tehran on November 29 pulling down the UK flag and demanding the expulsion of the envoy.

Iran’s Foreign Ministry expressed regret over the “unacceptable actions” of a number of protesters during the demonstration in front of the embassy.

Following the incident, Britain's Foreign Secretary William Hague announced on November 30 that London is withdrawing its diplomatic staff from Iran and that the Iranian embassy in London will be closed.
