“Iranian engineers and specialists have been working in Syria for many years and have faced no problem during these years,” Boroujerdi said on Saturday.

The lawmaker, who heads the, went on to say that considering the current situation in Syria, it is clear that the insecurity created by the US in this country is the main cause of the abduction.

He stressed that insecurity in Syria is the result of the policies adopted by the US and its allies in the region.

“The US and its [regional] allies such as Saudi Arabia and Turkey use a set of policies and investments to create political changes and insecurity in Syria. They are pursuing active policies in this regard,” he added.

Boroujerdi said as the kidnapped Iranian specialists were working on Syria's national projects, the Syrian government is directly responsible for their protection.
